Now this is vacation!

East to the Eastby's!

We traveled 800 miles from St. Louis to Hampden Sydney, VA to visit the Eastby Family - John, Rondi, Karin and Nitra. Jacob spent some time jump roping during gas stops to burn off some energy during the 14 hour trip. We drove through some beautiful mountain roads in West Virginia.

We arrived at Hampden Sydney via an interesting back road, compliments of our GPS. It was a dark, windy, narrow road, but fun!

We had a great visit with them and enjoyed a tour of the beautiful Hampden-Sydney College campus.

Relay for Life 2009

I have been involved with the Relay for Life since 1998 when my dad passed away from colon cancer. In 2007, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. Thanks to early detection through mammogram, I was able to have my cancer surgically removed and after six weeks of radiation, was deemed "cancer free". Relay for Life is one of the highlights of the summer for our whole family. I am the chair of the silent auction and this year we raised over $5000, with an overall total for the event of almost $65,000!

Kelly & Jon's wedding

Kelly was Cassi's "Big Partner" at Gustavus. We were fortunate to be able to share her wedding day with her. Cassi was a beautiful "guest book" attendant and Kelly was a beautiful bride! The wedding was at Christ Chapel at Gustavus on June 5.

Track Season

This spring was filled with many fun afternoons at track meets across southern Minnesota! Brittani once again lettered on the varsity team. She continues to enjoy pole vaulting and even tried (and liked) distance running this year.

Cassi went out for 7th grade track and did very well running the 100, 200, 4x100 relay and also tried long jump. Of course, she mostly loved the "social life" of being on the track team, but surprised us all by being a good little sprinter!

Soccer!!

Jacob is playing soccer on a U-11 C3 League this summer. They are having a great season and are really fun to watch.
